Curry nuts are a local bush food. Each nut is bashed open (usually with a handy rock) and the nut extracted. The nuts are great to eat. Kind of like an almond, but softer and more flaky in texture. The locals pierce each nut onto a piece of bush string and carry them like that. You can often buy these Curry Nut strings at various markets like the Alotau Market.
